It's not good-bye but until we meet again

Almost everyone at Grand View Elementary knows Melissa Davis. For those who don't know her, let me introduce you to her. She is the mother to Jaden (5th grader) and Luna (2nd grader and Maite's best bud. Melissa is a dedicated mother, wife and volunteer. She is an amazing chef and you can read about it at http://melissadavisfood.wordpress.com.

At Grand View, Melissa was the Co-President of PTA (was also Treasurer for 2 years), the garden keeper and instructor for the students, the parent who made sugar skulls for Dia de los Muertos, Chef for the Volunteer Breakfast, coordinator for the nutrition fair, one of the parent volunteers for the monthly movie nights and the list goes on.

Amongst this busy schedule, she had a job as a chef for a well known musician and his family and she always made time for friends. Whether it was a potluck, hanging out at the house or going out for some mommy free time, Melissa was there!

Needless to say, Grand View will miss Melissa Davis and we will miss Melissa Davis. Her ability to stay calm, her glowing smile and her dancing to Bell Biv DeVoe (Poison). We wish you and the familia the best as you start a new chapter in Washington. Thank God for Facebook and email, you will be seconds away! We wish you well on your new adventure.

It isn't good-bye. After all, next time you are in Los Angeles, we have a spa date!

Love you mi amiga Melissa. Te quiero un chingo!
